Having passed the 31 January tax return filing deadline and the 29 February superannuable pay certificate filing deadline, GP practices may have thought that they had fulfilled their annual reporting requirements for 2014/15.
However, Jean Kelly, a specialist GP accountant at Midlands firm HSKS Greenhalgh is reminding GP practices that, as part of the 2015/16 GMS/PMS contract negotiations, practices are obliged to publish details of their 2014/15 NHS earnings on their websites by 31 March 2016.
Says Jean: “Hopefully their practice accountants have made them aware of this and offered assistance with the calculations. Having prepared these calculations for our own client practices, I have encountered a number of complications relating to included/excluded income streams, pro-rata allocations of expenditure, treatment of salaried and locum GPs etc, so the calculations are not always straightforward”.
Jean has drawn up some guidance on how the figures should be calculated and would be happy to help to any practice looking for advice on this matter. You can contact Jean on 01332 200105 or by email at jean.kelly@hsksgreenhalgh.co.uk
