Hannah-Louise Nash BA (Hons) FCCA

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, we’ve taken over Hannah’s profile to ask her for the advice she would give to women considering a career in accountancy and to find out who inspires her the most.

“I joined HSKSG as a graduate and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2016.  I became an Associate Director in 2018 and then a Director in 2023 and I head up the firm’s Uttoxeter office.

“The best thing about my job is being able to work within the agricultural industry, a sector that is very close to my heart.  In fact my husband Jack and I are up-scaling our own farming activities as we move to a new farm later this month.

“I also enjoy working alongside all my colleagues, who share the same ambition as I do, to offer the best service to our clients.

“I’ve been fortunate in that I have sat on the board of directors, where the majority of my colleagues are male, and have never felt inferior or out of place.

“When I first started my career, the industry felt like it was male dominated, this is definitely a thing of the past as there are now a lot of female advisors in the sector.  For any women who are thinking of an accountancy career I would say don’t be afraid to follow your dreams and ambitions, it can feel like a long time studying but it is definitely worth it, there are lots of development opportunities along the way.

“I can’t say that there is anyone well-known who inspires me. I have always been stubborn and independent so can only blame/thank my parents!

“On a personal level, it must be my gran, I am eternally grateful for her passing on her baking skills,  She taught me that nothing is impossible and to never give up.”
